  • Ward manufactures a complete line of bucket elevators. In addition to standard models, our engineering department has designed many special units including:
    • Capacities up to 440 STPH of material @ 100 lbs/cuft.
    • Drives up to 100 hp.
    • High Temperature Service up to 1200 F.
    • Fixed boot pulley and head take-up.
      • Counterweight take-ups (internal & external types).
    • Access ladders and platforms.
    • Lifting beams and hoists.
    • Steel, aluminum, and stainless steel castings.
      • Elevator buckets in steel, plastic, aluminum and cast metals.
  • We will build you special Bucket Elevators to cover your specific requirements.
  • Our Standard Centrifugal Discharge Type Belt & Bucket Elevators are available with the following standard features:
    • Easy Access Cuts Maintenance Time: Five service doors, swivel, clamp type for fast open and closure.
    • Solid Steel Lagged Head Pulley: Light weight hood split or one piece for fast access and easy maintenance.
      • Heavy Duty Components: All units are equipped with TEFC Motor, Torque Arm Reducer with build in Backstop or with gearmotors and motor brake. Pulley outfits include alloy steel shafts Roller Bearing pillow blocks and Take-Up bearings. These components ensure smooth long trouble free performance.
  • Elevator Buckets: Including styles ranging from AA to DH and super capacity for continuous type bucket elevators. Special buckets designed to meet specific application requirements are available on request.
    • "Life Lip" Elevator Buckets: Ward "Life Lip" elevator buckets feature an exclusive lip insert made of high abrasion resistant steel.
    • This extra lip insert increases service life up to 100% over conventional malleable iron buckets in abrasive conveying applications. That means Ward "Life Lip" buckets need changing only half as often!
    • The "Life Lip" buckets are engineered for tough conveying jobs where abrasion and wear are a problem. With an exclusive lip insert of abrasion resistant steel, these buckets last up to twice as long as conventional malleable buckets.
    • Conveying sticky materials: An optional epoxy coating is available for cleaner dumping.
    • "Life Lip" Elevator Bucket styles include: A, AC, B, C, SC, D, DH, and SC.
    • Conveying sticky materials? An optional epoxy coating is available for cleaner dumping.
    • Most popular bucket sizes are in stock, and ready for immediate delivery.

Flexible Wall Conveyors

  • The Ward Engineering group has designed hundreds of Flexible Wall Belt Conveyors and many Turnkey systems.
  • Typically, flexible wall conveyors become economical when material needs to be lifted at high incline angles up to vertical and real-estate is at a premium. The advantage of the flexible wall conveyor design is the horizontal runs can be made as short as possible, just sufficient to meet feeding and discharge demands, but can also be extended horizontally to clear obstructions or to fit with existing orientations. Vertical runs do not need the structural support that incline conveyors need, giving a capital investment advantage to this type of conveyor.
  • Flexible Wall Belt conveyors can handle generally up to 6000 Tph without getting into specialization. Wall heights are available from 1" to 16" and belt widths in 2" increments from 12" to 24" or 24" to 72" in 6" increments. Belt speeds are generally set below 500 fpm and lifting capacity is available to 200 ft. Some units have been designed to 650 ft high.
  • Drives are normally furnished completely assembled and equipped with a totally enclosed motor, torque-arm reducer, V-belt drive and drive guard with a built-in backstop to prevent roll back of loaded belt. Alternate arrangements include gear-motors with built in motor brakes.
    • Pulleys: Solid steel head and tail pulleys with flat face are standard. Head pulleys can be supplied lagged, if increased belt or pulley friction is required.
    • Shafts: manufactured from C1045 ground steel for high strength and long life.
    • Pillow Blocks: Heavy-duty roller bearing pillow blocks are normally furnished. Ball bearing units can be supplied for light duty applications.
    • Idlers: It is standard practice to furnish CEMA-C idlers with sealed for long, trouble-free performance. CEMA-B idlers are supplied for light duty applications.
    • Belt: Cross-rigid design belting features side to side support while still allowing longitudinal flexibility to provide high strength and long life.
    • Stringers: Heavy channel section stringers are provided with cross-angle stiffeners. Heavy gauge deck plates, which prevent spillage onto the return belt are available if required.
  • Ward also provides a total capability relative to the design, manufacture and installation of custom engineered flexible wall belt conveyors and systems suited to the complete range of bulk materials handling requirements. Don't hesitate to contact a sales representative through this site for a quote.
  • Major industries that are users of the Flexible Wall Belt Conveyor include alumina casting, cement, coal, coke, chemicals, detergents, food, glass, gravel, mining, phosphates, plastics, quartz, refractories, salt, sand, slag, steel and sugar.
